Default Transfer of 2.2.9 from one server to another

I need help badly. I need to transfer over a site that was running 2.2.9. I bought a new license but need to just transfer the site as is for now and then I'll upgrade it later to 3.5.4. So I have already copied all of the /forums folder over and made a mysqldump and downloaded the file from the old server and uploaded it to the new server. So now I just need to know how to import the database into the new database server. It was running on a single linux box but I'm going to run it on two separate Windows units. I already created a new mysql databse but what do I do with the .sql file to get it imported? I was hopeing to get this up and going as soon as possible since I had to take the site down before I did the dump.

Thanks

I got everything transferred but now when I go to log into the admin panel (/forums/admin) to turn the forum back on it won't accept my login. It just acts like it does if you type in the wrong info. When I go to /forums I'm getting the message that the board was shut down like it should show but it's like it's not reading the user info from the database. This is driving me nuts.

Is there some kind of test I can do to make sure everything in the database is setup correctly?

I would recommend using the support ticket system at vBulletin.com (you will need to log into your members area to access the page), and provide them with all the relevant URL's and login details.

What about importing the database into a fresh load of 3.5.4. Is that very hard? I have a fresh load of of 3.5.4 I just did and it seems to be working just fine. So how do I take that 2.2.9 backup and import it into my new install of 3.5.4?

You will need two databases on the same server. Import your 2.2.9 into the one that your 3.5.4 is not in, then grab impex from your members area, and follow the instructions to import a vB2 database.
