Questions regarding 'who's online' and hacks
Hey guyz, 2 questions
first question, a few hacks that I install create a custom page which is viewable to everyone, but when looking at who's online it display's "Unknown Location" and the URL link underneath... If I wanted it to display a location that I specify without the 'Unknown" showing up, what would I have to edit, and where...? Secondly, also regarding hacks... If I install a hack I only want admin or admin/mods to see... Again in who's online, anyone can click and link and see the page... Can I define somewhere in the code that that particular page can only be accessed by certain usergroups, and not shown in who's online if the usergroup that person is in doesn't have persmission... Thanks guyz, Kurt |

A quick and easy way to remove unknown location is to change the phrase to sommin like: Page
I did that on an old board when I was using a mod-rewrite hack Re the second bit you can use If statements for specific usergroups - i don't know them at the top of my head but there is an introduction to them in you vBulletin manual, or if you start a thread in vbcom someone will answer with the statement you need |

Kurt,
Have a look at this mod ( https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ghlight=custom ) which will give you a quick and easy way to add WOL details for your mods. With regards to only specific usergroups having permissions to view the mods, you will need to see if each mod uses any form of usergroup permissions and if not wrap if conditions around each one as applicable. |
