Are you using JOURNAL with 3.5.x? Any problems?
I really need journals for my sites...REALLY, REALLY...
For those of you using it, have you had any major problems? (or minor ones, for that matter.) |

Been having an odd error where comments that were submitted in the 3.5 journal are not showing up. Entries are being recorded to the DB and entries added back when we were on 3.0 show up correctly. I'm using default 3.5 journal templates, so thats not it. I seem to be the only one having that issue though otherwise it works good.

Using it now since first week of jan '06.
Not any major problems, just some bugs here and there. And some funcionalties from the previous version have been removed, which I hope get back in the next update. |

Which also seems to affect the members in the buddy list. Also a few minor changes on the main journals page. People cant comment on the journal anymore without having to click "discuss" button or going to the comments page, then scroll all the way down to the page, then type a comment. And in private journals that "discuss" button for comments doesn't work at all. It could these are just some bugs which still need to be removed. |

> Admins were able to view private journals/private entries. Not anymore in this version!
Correct. Private means Private, so nobody except allowed users should be able to access them - not even admins. > Which also seems to affect the members in the buddy list. Hmm ... that should work (does on my tests). If you can provide a demo that has this problem I can take a look. > People cant comment on the journal anymore without having to click "discuss" button This was done to get comments properly attached to entries. I thought it looks better to have the comments box at the bottom, feel free to move it (just edit the template). > And in private journals that "discuss" button for comments doesn't work at all. Should work too. If you can provide a demo that has this problem I can take a look. |

My apologies if this is a dumb question, but how come this mod is still in 'beta'? I admittedly don't know much about programming, but that's what was keeping me from installing - I'm just worried about bugs. My forum is fairly busy, so I know the second I add Journals, the members are going to stampede it - and I"ll hear the complaints about any problems. Is the verdict that Journal works with the latest versions of vB? I don't mind some of the 'previous features missing' |

Well, I am runnig this in a production environment (40K users) since several month.
Though, it will always stay beta cause I can never guarantee that there are no bugs ... too complex hack |
