How would i do this?:

When a user types [reader] in his post, it will show the person who is reading the thread/pm their username. So if i posted it, and say Ben was reading, it would show Hello Ben for example.

Search engine isn't cooperating with me for some reason, but look around for the /you /youid hack. You can most likely just pull the code from there and wrap it into BBCode.
