Backing up my site?
Sorry to ask this, I am a novice admin. I am running vB 3.0.4 and I am wondering how to back my site up to my hard drive. I think what I need to do is open smartFTP which will then go to ftp.mywebsite.com then it will show the files on my server. Then I go into commands and select download and the appropriate folder. Please let me know if I am doing it right or if there is something else I need to do. Thanks in advance.

Do a quick search on: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/
Everything is there depending if you're going to use cPanel, myPhpAdmin or SSH. |

Are you backing up your site, as in the files and folders? Or the database, as in the threads and posts?
You can use FTP to backup the files and folders. I forget how it was for 3.0, but I think you can backup the database from the Maintenance tab in the admincp. |
