file form field in 'Edit Profile' via plugin system?

hi,

i'd like to add a file upload form field to the user/cp->Edit Profile page. unfortunately the user profile field thingy at the adminCP does not support this type of form field, so is it possible to add there a form field via the plugin system? if so which hook location could i use for it?
