Automatic Usergroup Assignment Based on User Info?
I was wondering if it is possible to automatically assign new users to a specific usergroup based on the information they provide.
e.g.) Men get assigned to a men's usergroup and women get assigned to a women's usergroup. Could anyone tell me if this is possible with vB without any hacks, or is there a hack, etc..? Thank you. |

You could use public usergroups. Since it's basically impossible to ACTUALLY prove whether or not a person is male or female, it doesn't really matter. Create two public usergroups; one for men and one for women. Then tell users to join the corresponding usergroup.
Otherwise... there is a hack that you can use that puts users into a usergroup based on the answer they give to a custom field at registration. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=82992 |
