Cross Domain cookie issues
Ok I have my forums on my .com domain and my website on my .net version of the domain. Long story about why it's like that, yeah I could move one as it's no longer needed, but that's work I'd prefer not to do if I don't have to.
I'm working on doing some integration with my website and forums. I've been trying to add login pages and have tried two different scripts from here, both work when I'm on the same top level domain as my forums, but when I move to my .net domain they don't work. I'm pretty darn sure it's a cookie issue as that's the only thing that I can think of that would cause such an issue. I've got the settings in VB set to "/" and to (blank) for the cookie settings, is there anything else I can do? Or is it possible that something else might be the issue? I know enough to be dangerous but I'm not an expert at this stuff. Ideas? |

You can not set cookies across domains, that is a browser security issue.

hmm - good information. Anyone know a way around this limitation? I know this is a bit of a special case but still.
