No Content
We used to have the No Content hack in the last version although with the new version its built in but it has no effect on our archives like the hack had which almost makes the new feature uselss. Is there a hack or a modification so that the archives are also set to No Content like the hack was...

Its where you allow Guest to see the forum but they cant read the thread. It works great on the forum although the issue is it does nothing in the archives as it used to when it was a hack before it was added as a regular feature now...

With vB3.5 this is a usergroup permission. No hack needed if i understand you correct.

Im aware its a usergroup permission and if I dont want usergroup to see contenet of a given forum then I set "View Content" to No in the panel and when they clcik on a thread in that forum they are given a message they have to signup to view it. That all works just fine.
The issue is that if they go to our archives or history pages they can view those posts from there even though they cant in the forum which in some ways makes the setting useless since they can just go to the archives. In previous vb versions "View Content" feature was not available although there was a hack for it which we installed. The hack had a feature added so the settings that would carry to the archives of a forum. With the new vb now having a setting to prevent usergroups from viewing content of a forum is a nice addition although there sems nothing carrying over the settings so the effect is the same in the archives or history pages which is the issue were having... |

If a usergroup is set not to view content, but can still view it in the archives, i would consider this a vB bug, and you should report it in the bug tracker at vb.com (check first if it is not reported already).
