Don't become that bitter about him! We aren't certain that he did it, I just pointed out the possibility!

Maybe we should disable thread ratings at all (for hack threads)... I mean, the best indicator for hack's usefullness is how many people installed it in proportion to the time it has been out... Why rate?

Thought I`d reply to this, since the only replies have come from coders LOL ... Anyway, personally I agree with the comment above by dark visor. The ratings on hack threads are definatly irrelevant. Personally if I want to know how good a hack is, I would 1. See how many installs for hte lenth of time the hack has been available, and 2. More importantly, I would simply check the comments, and amount of replies to a hack.

Just as an example, Mr Zeropages thread on the new ibproarcade, has had a lot of responses from people and is looking very promising before the hack has even been released. Some negetive feedback has been seen from supporters of V3Arcade, however the features look great and the way he`s conducting the beta period, I personally think is excellent.... And to be honest with you, I ain`t gotta clue what the thread rating is on that particular thread. Wouldn`t even bother to look.

I have seen this happen a few times recently.

Ratings on hacks are a waste of time, very people bother rating them, even less bother to check them.

Disable them and be done with it.

Rating comes in when I want to install a hack, however, If I see a one I don't go "Oh, I'm not installing this hack. Look at it's rating." I take a careful look through all the pages of the hack to see if there's any known bugs. That way I can tell if the rating is deserved or just an instance of the above situation.

I actually like the ratings. Furthermore, I disagree with Dark's assertion that a negative rating on one of his mods must be unreasonable. As adults, we must learn to deal with negative feedback from time to time. I have received low ratings on a mod or two and have yet to stomp my feet and have a public tantrum about it.

You might like ratings, but you have to agree that they do not supply any useful information. And if I am pissed off, it is not because my hack received a negative rating or a negative feedback (I'm actually open to any kind of feedback, as long as it is constructive and as long as it can help improve the hack). It is because of the stupidity of those who cast ratings thinking that it would actually hurt someone and because of the absence of any tangible comments.
