Mark edited Posts as 'New'
Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible that, when someone edits their post in a thread their post could be re-marked as a 'new' post so that it is easier to recognise when someone has done so. I mainly want the feature for when I am updating information posted on my site, without having to make an entirely seperate post/announcement just to tell people something new has happened, and for discussion threads where I wish to update the thread wihtout having to post again (assuming I posted last) I am currently using the 'Database' Thread marking system for people who want to help and wish to know. Thanks in advance, - Kovash |

Single posts are not actually marked as unread/new.
What happens is that when you read a thread, a record is kept of the date/time of the last post in it, so any new posts that are added are considered unread until you go into the thread again to read them. Therefore you cannot mark an edited post in the middle of a thread as unread without making all the posts after it unread as well. |

Ok...
Though that doesn't change what I'm after, exactly - perhaps this particular option only functions for the final post in any given tread? It doesn't bother me how it works, so long as I don't have to double post (which looks ugly, in my opinion), or delete my last post and post again (which is ok, but i'd prefer not to expend extra effort ) EDIT: Thanks for the infomation, btw |

Really, really difficult - and IMHO not worth it.

Darn - I suppose if it's too hard it isn't worth doing... would have been nice though
Thanks anyway. |
