Is there a hack that I can make my current users online more active by keeping members who visited today still active? And or guests as well?

You could increase your cookie timeout from the default 900 seconds to something else, or you could install a hack which shows the users who logged in today on your forum index.

is there away to instead of adding a new box put it in the existing currently active box?

I added a 'members who visited today' as as well as who's online to make things look more active.
