I thought there was a hack for this somewhere, but now I can't seem to find it. I'm looking for a hack to let guests see threads on forumdisplay, but force them to register when they click on a thread... Can someone point me in the right direction?

For 3.0.x, you can find that hack here. For 3.5, it's now built-in using forum permissions
