Default Inline Currently Active Users On The Board Index
This hack calls for the currently active users to update as someone logs on/logs off. If you look at this page: ( http://deviantart.com ) you'll see that anytime a user makes an upload, it "magically" refreshes.

Just another idea, don't know if you can use it.
