Sort threads in a forum by date in Subject

Hi there:

We have an event listings forum on our board and we need it to autosort by a date in the subject of each thread.

The reason being is that the usergroup who can post in this forum sometimes needs to reply to their own threads to add information about their event listing (DJ bios, set times, ticket prices) and this automatically bumps their thread to the top of the forum heirarchy. This pisses of other event promoters because their threads get bumped off the page by other promoters

What we need is an autosort hack that will put the closest dated event thread at the top of the forum all the time, with other dates decending, no matter how many replies happen in each thread.

So it would sort thread titles like this:

July 29 DJ sneak at eurgwergjqe
August 1 DJ Tiesto at eirgwerytgqwerg
September 14 DJ wannabee at sdldflsdksdfk


Does this hack already exist for 3.0x?

If not, would any of you advanced coders care to give me a quote. The hack also has to be one that can migrate to the next release of 3.0x with no issues.
