i work in the same conditions at my job, they have broken air conditioners and it gets real hot and no way to cool down except fans. we have all been plotting to call O.S.H.A. on them.

the employer doesnt have to have AC in the workplace. it isnt a necessity.

Well it is when you work in a call centre and everyone is talking because they are all on the phones....

I bet that they do require it if it is over a certain temperature. Around here it was 115 with the heat index.

Join the club, I have air in my place of work, it's just that it only reaches half of the cash registers (Lanes 14-18), all the other lanes are hot as hell, and the further you go down the hotter it is. They usually put me on 6 or 4

kobe no they dont. think of all the factories eg. some that make pastries where its well over 100 every day through the summer they dont have to put in ac. also i've loaded trailers before and inside they hit 120's easy. they didnt have to cool them with anything other than fans (at most).

Nope I'm pretty sure certain areas of work need to be kept at a certain temperature, or as An-net stated...it's time to call O.S.H.A.

The only time AC is needed is to keep critical equipment from melting down. People don't count.

And if you call OSHA, and they find other things that are wrong, can you afford to be out of work if they shut the place down?
