tried to merge two styles, now I get a blank page
<a href="http://www.crossvegas.com/forum/" target="_blank">www.crossvegas.com/forum/</a>
I tried to merge my default style with another style. My goal was to take the graphics and color scheme out of one style, and keep all the navbar links from default style. Apparently I made a huge error. If I make a new style, and make it the forum default, I still get a blank page on the forum site. Does anyone have any advice on how to revert back to how it was? If I make a new style, and make it the forum default, I still get a blank page on the forum site. Thanks |

Try putting the style that used to be default as default again. (Or upload default as style 1)

Try create a new empty style with no parent, then switch to that.

I went to styles and templates, clicked on add new style
I made a style called test, with a display order of 1 it has no parent style I then went to vbulletin options, style and language settings, and changed the default style to test, then set " allow users to change style" to "no" I am still having the same issue. Any more ideas? Thanks for your help. |

Changing the default style, don't change the style users are using. Did you try changing to that new style?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean marco.
I made a new style, and it still does the same thing. |

He means don't set it that members can't change the style, because you only want to change what the default style is, not the styles that members are using.

ok, well still no go I'm pretty lost as for what to do to restore my forum. I can do a fresh reinstall, but I'm not really willing to lose all my members, posts, or forum categories. I do have a ton of add-ons as well, but I suppose I can re-add them one by one. With vbulletin 3.5 coming out real soon, ( and the plugin system), that may not be an issue at all. So I guess my plan of attack currently is to just have about 75 angry people until 3.5 comes out, and possibly import the users/posts/categories/etc from the database into a fresh install of 3.5.
Do you think beta 3 is stable enough at this point to do something like that? If it is, do you have any advice on how to import the things I have listed from the old 3.0.7 database into the 3.5 database, without importing the corrupted template settings? One last question I guess: if Beta 3 is stable enough, and I run it; will vbulletin 3.5 gold have an upgrade feature directly from beta3 to the stable version? Or will I have to do another complete reinstall? Thanks for all your help guys. |

Have to tried re-uploading the default style given in the vBulletin .zip through the ACP? If that doesn't work, it must be modification-related..
