Please include actual hyperlinks in your post, it's a lot more convienient for other members if you want them to review your sites.

you assume that everyone browses the web with a 1059 (width)* window
... I'd be complaining ... than again, I would just ignore your site for making such an assumption

* window size required for me to NOT see the horizontal scrollbar (firefox)

I have a 1600 resolution but I never browse the WEB with anything bigger than 1000.

95% of the time, I have 2 windows opened at 800. It's a habit from the dial-up days.)

Too many blinking ads, this would usually drive traffic away. Best to just keep a couple of ads.

One of the side ads (number #24 of the side ads down the list!!) is too wide, making the whole column wide, driving your forum to the right of the browser. Visitors would consider this very intrusive, and unlikely to join unless they have to. Ads on the side column usually stick to 150 pixels max.

There's a standard for web sites that some designers adhere to:
Keep your page a maximum of 760 pixels in width.

This is a good rule, but by no means is this written in stone. As technology becomes cheaper, people's screen resolutions will increase. I remember when we were told to stick to 640 pixels as a standard.

Also, don't have distracting blinking ads or text on your pages. Try to stick to clam, fluid motion and try to stay away from sharply contrasting colours unless you're trying to make some part of the screen stick out.

What's making your page too wide on http://www.theopu.com is the line with two 468x60 ad banners.

I think you should put one ad banner on that line and one ad banner lower on the page.

Otherwise, http://www.theopu.com has a very clean look.

http://www.theplayerunion.com has the same problem with the two 468x60 ad banners. I would consider moving one down on the page or just getting rid of it.

Also, there are too many distracting ads on the left side on this screen. Consider a slowly scrolling sponsors module which dims those bright ads at about 160x300 pixels. You can use the marquee tag to do this.

Just my 2?

- Sid
