I was wondering if there was a hack/mod that would allow me to see what users were online, where/what they were doing, etc... I asked at vbulletin.com, but they said it wasn't possible...

Are you thinking of something like the whosonline script for the admincp? (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/online.php?)

That allows you to view who is online and what they are doing.
