i don't this is what i'm looking for but thanks for helping.
i need something in the lines of members constantly posting crap just to up their post counts. i need to find some way to throttle down their postings. |

i know of that feature.
but that feature effects both threads and posts. i'm looking for something that'll effect thread posting more than anythng. i have this promotional setting where if a member reaches about 25 threads or more their are allowed to go into a specific forum. |

Perhaps you need to be a bit more specific about WHAT you are trying to stop.
Set a character limit, limit the number of smilies, penalize people for spamming with temporary bans if needed. Need more information about exactly what they are doing, are they just spamming posts like LOL! If so, turn up the character limit, etc. |
