An idea for an alternative to email Digests
I wondered if anyone new how to or had thought about the idea of compiling all the new posts with topic or thread descriptions on a daily basis, into a XML newsfeed. I have heard complaints that vBulletin doesn't offer an email digest option for the boards but since there is support for activating XML and RSS newsfeeds in vBulletin, it occurred to me that it shouldn't be too difficult to create a mod that would take all the new posts in a day and generate a XML newsfeed article from that. Then by posting the XML button on our main pages we invite our viewers to subscribe to daily post updates via their XML/RSS reader. Another great thing that this would do is increase search engine robot attention to our sites via the XML link.
