these domains are vital to companies who operate in multiple countries across the globe or websites who desire to provide content for parts of the globe specifically while not affecting the main website. i think the loss of country domains is sad because it allowed companies and large websites provide targeted content to its users.

How do you work that out? Just because a domain has .us on the end doesn't make it have an instant targetted audience

yes but the .country codes were established specifically for those reasons of course they cant say hey dont u use that extension unless your targeting them but they were established so you could directly target an audience. alot of companies use this method to specifically branch their company is what ever area its available. business most likely caused these domains to come about

In addition, if you already own a private .US domain name registration, you will be forced to forfeit your privacy no later than January 26, 2006. You do have the option of making your domain 'private listing'... Which is what I have done for every single domain I have... I own about 107 domains, all private listed, it costs a grip but if you purchase in bulk... the price can then be cut almost in half, also depending greatly on the number of years purchased...

I have yet to come across this either, not that I have looked for it or anything but I did check however to see if you are able to still purchase a .US name, which I can... but I think if Suave is one of the hosts on godaddy.com radio, I'm pretty sure he's not BS'ng... godaddy owns... :tired: so does ev1servers.net :surprised:

I for one will only purchase .com, .net. and .org names... maybe a .edu and if I could a .gov hehe...

But that is it.

I sold one of my domains lately for about 7,000$ USD, which pretty much covered my expenses on all those domains. not to mention the other ones that I have auctioned off... Anyhow...
