Is there a hack to display user profile links to catch spammers?
If not, I think I'll write one! Let me explain the issue in case somebody else has a better solution to it. I'm sure this has been addressed before!
We haven't kept an eye on user registrations until recently. Not realizing what the real problem was, we simply deleted users who hadn't visited in over a year. So we probably got rid of a lot of our spammer problem that way. What I'm now realizing, though, is that we have inactive users who might have objectionable material in their profile. Seems to me a search for any profile fields LIKE '%http%' might be in order. Has anyone done this? And if not... would there be any point in my posting a **perl cgi** script that does so? I know minimal php, unfortunately! Ed |

Never mind, I wrote it myself. If anybody wants a copy (perl cgi) let me know

I wanted to search all profile fields including custom fields, bio, etc. Is there a built-in way to do that? That would have been easier, I agree |
