3 Questions for Forum Maniacs/Coders(3.03 - Articles Hack)

Hello all,

This thread, has to do with V3 Articles, but i think anyone here with some good php and vb knowledge, can help me.(as i tried to ask something in their forums, but it seems that except some good ppl there, the creator is to busy to reply)

1) Anyway, do u think its possible(i dont know any php codding i must mention), to make a table in the main forum index page(my forum page is www.gamers.gr/board where i could have inside 3 -4 pictures of my 3-4 most recent articles? And as i update articles, new picture be added automatically in this table.

2) Also, is there any way, to put my articles forum, in the main page(index of forum) too?

3) Do u know, what is the .php or the template that stores the thumbs size of the articles? I mean that i see now(see for yourself as well) that it is now 100x75...And i want to change it to something bigger...Do u know a way?

... bumping the thread will not make it answered faster... if nobody answer is maybe because nobody have the answers, or haven't read it yet, like me...

there is a lot of possibilities withing the core system or Articles, but there is none yet, as John didn't focussed on that lately.

ok, here are the answers:

1- a new image display for your articles page is possible, a simple script that browse the attachements related to these articles can be simple to do, no need to create a complete system for that.

2- if you use the vBadvanced CMPS portal, you already have some blocks related to Articles there.. adding the content of the articles to your front page means you retreive the database information, this is simple if you wish to have it in a different external page.

3- there is no template related to attachements images.. the setting is related to your board setting itself... the bigger you set the attachement thumbnail size, the biger it will display (new ones) on your articles page.

1) So what this script is and where i have to put it? I dont know any php

2) So u suggest find this CMPS portal(i dont have it) and try take the same script from there?

3) I tried put the jpgs, from 100 kb which is now, to 150 or 300 kb but there was no size changed! I mean not be 100 x 75 again, but something larger.

1: this was a suggestion, no script exists yet, so i suppose someone would be able to create it.. (read my sig for me details)

3) No its not working for the Articles...It changes the settings if u going to upload something in the forum, but if u go to articles, and do the same...it didnt changed anything
