Help modifying Current Active Users & Welcome Newest Member

I am running v.3.0.3. My board requires allows people to register but requires administrator approval before they're made active members.

I'd like to change the "Current Active Users" table so that people who have registered but have not yet been approved do NOT show up as online.

Similarly, I'd like the "Welcome Newest Member" message to reflect the most recently approved member, not the most recently registered member.

I saw some hacks in this forum for exactly these issues, but they were for an older version of the software, and I'm not skilled enough in coding to figure out how to implement them in the current version. I understand the changes will have to reflect the ID level of the users involved, but where to put it...no idea!

Also, we've made changes to the current usergroups to the extent that the numbers associated with levels are a little confusing. We need the "who's online" to include the following groups: 6, 7, 9, and the newest member will be the most recent addition to group 9.

You have to use another usergroup I think: Attending moderation which is not show in wol !
