wow thats harsh, someone must of hacked your server and hijacked it and used to DoS other sites. I would ask for a list of ip's who had accessed it recently
The only info or proof that was sent to me was the little IP info that I posted above and thats it. My IP in all that mess was 66.235.201.147 I would have liked to check my log files but after they took the account down it never cam back!
wow, that could make a man cry. You have my condolences.
Erwin, how often would you recommend doing an offsite backup?
Depending on the size of your site, and your dependency upon the traffic. For example if you are making tons of money, and your cash flow depends on the amount of daily traffic and archived information, it is worth doing it every week, and if the incentive is there (as in you are raking in the massive $$$ or some other benefit) than daily. Otherwise every 2 weeks or every month is good, keeping your backup fresh is the key. If it comes to it you backup will be able to be put into play with very minor losses that can be compensated for without a large effort on your part.
i have a couple of dedicated servers from them.. they don't know a lot about FreeBSD, although they will install it, but otherwise, they do fairly well.. I have had no issues with them except when they didn't install freebsd on my newest server correctly.. past that, no issues what so ever..
my site recently got hacked (i was using different software) and they did this, my hosting company suspended it and presto! gave it back to me within 6hours, after i promised i'd look into it
