Users Mixed up after integration of PP & vBulletin
Sorry if this is not the correct place to post this, but I couldn't find a place for support for people who already own vBulletin. I've asked this question at the PhotoPost forums and someone told me that you couldn't integrate a previously used forum and previously used gallery. Is that true? I hate to think so b/c I have over 40,000 posts in my forums and tons of pictures and I don't want to reinstall either one, but I do want them to be integrated. I emailed vBulletin's support staff and they said to ask here as they do not offer support for hacked boards (although I was unaware that integration was a hack)
I am running PhotoPost 4.7 and vB 2.3.4 on my site. I integrated this evening and all seemed well, I have 541 members in my gallery now, just like on my boards. However, upon closer examination, I realized that many of my users are mixed up with one another. For example: If you go here - http://www.scribblesonline.com/phot...t=515&password= and click on Alissa, it will take you to a page that is supposed to show all of her photos. Well, it takes you to her page, but all the photos in it have the username Sarawith3kids. They are actually Alissa's photos, but say they are Sarawith3kids. If you go here again http://www.scribblesonline.com/phot...t=515&password= and click on Sarawith3kids, it will take you to page with photos that have cogero as the username associated with them Also, the people who are not jumbled up have a problem. When you click on show all of this user's photos, it either shows them as having no photos (when it clearly says on the first page that they have Xnumber of photos) or it will say they have an incorrect # of photos (different from what it says on the first page) Can anyone please help me figure out how to fix this? TIA |

Hi lakauai,
I use both programs and what i think is the problem you have is that since you are combining 2 existing databases, you would initially need to combine them, but the mix up you are getting is most likely Photopost matching up the pics with the old database member numbers. I dont know how you can rectify that apart from retaining an offline copy of photopost (before integration) and you manually move the images via your ppost admin panel. |

The links above don't work.
That's right. A prefix number is added to each file when it is uploaded. This number should be the same as the number of the member that uploaded the file. I would guess that the member number and the file prefixes may be off by a few numbers. If you only have a few photos, the easiest way to correct the problem is to rename the files using the correct prefix number. Otherwise you could try a search on the photopost forums. I think someone may have written a script to do this. |
