[VB3] Registration Filtering
Not sure if this is a hack or a mod but please read anyway.
I am looking for a way of filtering users at the registration stage. Heres the scenario. I am setting my game board up so that muliple guilds can use the forum, and have their own private forums. i want to be able to provide a password for a user group, that is asked at the registration stage. So for example, someone registering for Guild A inputs the password for Guild A. This assigns them a rank called Member of Guild A, and allows them access to Guild A's boards. Somene could set up under Guild B using their password. So on and so on. If no password is provided, they get the rank of registered user and access to the default boards. Is there something around like this? I wouldn't ahve a clue where to look for it. If not, could some rising star out there code it up I think that this kind of thing has potential for loads of applications Thanks |

Well i dont really see the need for a hack here. Let your member's register as normal and then create joinable custom groups. Put a leader on both of them and then they have to be approved before they can join. Then all you need to do is remove the permission for the other guild, Registered Users, and guests. It's pretty simple really. Passwords can be hard to remember but maybe there's a way?
