What do you think of vB3 Gamma?
Thought I would post a poll out of curiousity on what everyone thinks of the new "Gamma" (and future) releases of vBulletin3.
Personally, I think it looks outstanding and I can't wait to move to it. I've been hanging at vb2.2.7 due to hacks and not wanting to do a full upgrade but it is time.. Graphics and features look great.. Backend of 3.0 also (though I haven't seen Gamma yet) appears to be feature rich and much nicer than 2x. |

As I said in the other thread (mostly), the color scheme is more attractive than purple, but it is reminiscent of IBP and phpBB with the gradients and whatnot.
Also, it is inexcusable how Javascript is so heavily reliant on the functionality of vB as a whole. Client-side scripting should absolutely never be used for critical functions of a primarily server-side-based application. But the actual code is far cleaner. |

So we won't see it on Web Design Forums any time soon?

So far I like it. About the java menus, I agree with Filburt, what about users without java?
I will probably remake all those links into a sidebar nav table. |

Drop down menus can be down in pure CSS as well. I've seen several articles about it at the Sitepoint forums. I wondered if they pondered that.
Of course, flaws in compatibility with CSS in browsers is often more delineative than Javascript. I really can't imagine what users don't have Javascript enabled. |

Yeah, I agree with Filburt that the JS flashy graphic stuff is evol, especially considering how much of a pain in the ass it'd be to make it work on every single freaking browser ^_^ Anywho, JS makes me feel bloated, but vB is still fast, so I'm good. I just want to know what other changes there are besides a style change. |
