"Hiding" some options in the VB admin panel?
I am helping a computer illiterate friend setup his VB site, and I have been essentially "idiot proofing" the admin panel so he can't cause any real damage. Just to give one example, I have removed the backup menu option (as I will do it via a complete server backup) as well as the templates options so he can't get into those and mess them up. Now I am trying to "hide" certain options in the vBulletin Options section, such as the Upload Options and Load Limiting Options - mainly because I am afraid that he will get in there one day and mess with something he shouldn't be messing with.
What I need is for someone to tell me how to "hide" certain options in the vBulletin Options area, much like I can comment them certain things out in the admin/index.php file. Thanks much |

You shouldn't do this. As if he's got any sense he can find the links out by going to the vbulletin.com admindemo site and then type the links in manually and then he's got access...
Basically there are hacks all around vbulletin.org in the Full Releases forum which restrict admin access via user or usergroup etc Check it out - miSt |
