Is this done, or wanted?
I just hit I think devshed in a google search through the method that Overgrow put up here once upon a time.
My question before I go dig out the code is to ask if the method I use is wanted. I used a poor version of this before and got up to like ten thousand pages in google, then stopped using it and all the pages went away. So I refined it a bit and put it back up awhile back. For the last two weeks Mr Googlebot has been living at my forums, and intomi joined him a couple of days ago. More or less the other search engines have hit here and there already. Just FYI I have not yet seen anything more than a minor increase in pages indexed as of yet - but its way to early to expect that I would think. To see what I am talking about go to http://youdumbass.com and click into a forum, look at your address bar, go into a thread, look at a your address bar. If its wanted AND someone is willing to do the clean up (I dont have time) I will get with that someone, give them the code and tell them how to make it work and then let that person post it. (by clean up I mean fix urls that break from this, for example forumjump, can be done easy enough and with out putting your host name in. I have a one or two domain names that point to my forums right now just out of lack of anywhere else to point them and you can check them out and verify that more or less they do not have a forced hostname (I do have one in a piece of flash at the top and somewhere else that I have not bothered to find to clean out since it dont really matter to me) but for example http://TeamUSA.ws http://sportsforum.ws http://zachjump.com http://dhtml.ws http://USofA.ws all will keep their host name and be able to use the screwed up urls of mine. |

I did not really strip the hash very well, it still appears at the end forced back on somewhere and I did not care to look for it. http://sportsforum.ws/fsw/s/z/stats/4/football/baseball http://sportsforum.ws/fsw/s/z/rankings/54138/football/basketball are what my urls look like to you, googlebot, or anybody else. I have seen Intomi, Google, All the Web, Alta Vista, Hotbot to an name a few in the last few weeks in my forums. Have not seen the results in the search engines yet, but sooner or later. There is nothing at all in that url that could make you begin to think that was a forums url. Hell it does not even have names in it. |

hmm, i like the idea of this.. but the urls are abit weird personally.
Filburts method of outputting as forumxx.html is a good example |
