automatically hyperlink certain text?
Would it be possible to create a hack so that I could add words to a list so that whenever those words were mentioned it would hyperlink (create a link to a site) where it was typed?
For example if I have multiple sites and on my forum people mention my other site by just saying "3dnewz" it would automatically make it a link to my 3dnewz.com site? I would like it if it would work kinda like how vbcode works. I tried putting something like this into VB code, but VBcode seems to want brackets and/or opening and closing tags. I don't want either. I want it so that when somebody is just talking about something, I can make any normal word with any tags or anything to be linked to a site. I think this would be cool for FAQ too. Whenever somebody talks about certain forum related things, like refferals, etc. it could automatically link to the refferal FAQ page. I can think of multiple uses for this hack, but I guess the question is, would it take a lot for the server/code to scan all messages and to know what to link? Can somebody let me know if something like this is possible? I would appreciate it very much, Thanks! |
