EIRC complile
I have been using jpilot...and I tried using EIRC.
but for some reason you have to have it compiled or something so it will look at an external server lik Dalnet and use the channel you specify. If anyone knows how to do this...PLEASE CONTACT ME....i HAVE yet to get it to work...and I need this ASAP. thanks later. |

I had the same problem. You will need to download the necessary java software to compile, but i honestly am not experienced enough with this to do it.
I was in two minds already, about setting up my own IRC server for our chat, so i just went ahead and did this. eIRC is now working nicely, using localhost as the irc server. Sorry i cant help. |

poi@nwdnb: I went the same way, eirc works nicely on a local host
garoboldy: If I recall corectly - and god knows i tried. you need signed certificate to compile eirc to connect to a different server to the local host. If you have a spare code signing cert laying around thats ok, but if you don't they are sort of expensive. Dan |
