Disabling session ID in links...
This is only a small thing, but very annoying.
On some forums I have noticed that the links have extra code in them; a90700508563d5e1010996b6fe3a42e4 Here is an example of forums that do... http://www.e-tones.co.uk/forums/index.php? These are my forums which don't have the extra code in the links http://forums.mi5clan.com I have no idea how i turned it off, i was just playing around one day and it disappeared. I have been told it is for sessions, but my forums still have sessions without it. Could you tell me what this code is for, and how I would disable it? |

Ahhhh....... no problem, it just came to me
It is changed from the user end, you need to select 'Browse Board with Cookies' and the extra code is gone |

Sessionhash is used by PHP as an alternative to keep users logged in if cookie is off, or if the user is surfing behind a proxy. If cookies are on, it's not a problem.

Then why doesnt that work for me?
Oh wait - I am behind a Proxy server... Lol...I forget about it, as our machines all run through the "Hub" machine, which controls the network and internet access Satan |

it works for me, I am running a large network and I have done that in my user cp, I have done the same on 18 different computers on the same network and no problems
your site forums/member.php?s=&action=editoptions and select "yes" for Browse board with cookies Browse board with cookies? Clicking yes will use cookies to keep your id for this session. Clicking no will send it through the links. (Selecting no may cause problems when sharing links with people behind the same proxy as you) |
