Question....
Hi,
Well over the next 6 months i will have finished my course in A-level computing.. Currently we do no programming.. So i've decided after this year i'm going to start all over again and change my a-levels.. I really want to get into programming. So... The question is: Once you learn the basics of programming and know one programming language is it easy to learn others? Kindest Regards - miSt |

Fairly easy...

Yes, because most programing languages follow the basic variable and function rules, though it may not look like it, with bit of research into the programing langauge you will be able to catch on fairly quickly.

Yes it is easy.
But it depends on the differences of the programming languages. If you know how to code in a functional programming language, this nearly doesn't help you in imperative programming languages. But normally you learn to code in an imperativ object-orientated language, and then it's not very hard to learn other imperativ languages, because most of the coding structures are quite similar. |

once you know how to make althurlithums, you realy shoudn't have a problem, I am just learning Programing, actauly I havent even started yet, im taking a 1/2 year couse just to learn how to come up with the problem, and solve it, using I/O Charts and all that good stuff, then I go and take Computer Programing the 2ed 1/2 of the year, cant wait, I hope we learn some stuff with PHP

I picked up PHP in a matter of days. I already knew C++ (the speed!), a bit of C (the unreadability!), Java (the pain!), Visual Basic (the stupidity!), and other minor languages like Javascript.

well also from pascal you can go into othe languages as well, but i don't like it.
starting with c would be better, because there are more c-based languages out there. but in general, the most important is to learn how to code algorithm. the language is way behind |
