I am using vbindex and it works great, I have changed it a great deal to suite my needs, you can view it here http://www.hr3rdgen.org

However before I tried that I used vbHome lite , its like a very minimialistic version of vbindex, its worth a try.

I vote vbportal (www.phpportals.com) I use it on both of my vB webpages.

If you dont follow the directions to the T you will have problems. I would install it a couple times on a test forum and then release it to your public... atleast if you have a busy site.

Also server load isnt too bad with it vs's the others posted here. On my new busy site I always have 150 - 250 online all the time. I am running on a dedicated server like any other vB site that has this amount of traffic.
