Default CometChat issue - Online users not showing up

I know this isn't a CometChat support forum but I was wondering if there is anyone here who could maybe help me out with this. I also contacted CometChat support but they are going to take forever to reply. So I'm really hoping someone here could help maybe.

A couple of uses here blind-eddie and HM666 suggested me this so maybe they can help.

I bought Cometchat. I first did a test run on another vBulletin forum. It seemed to work. So I installed it on my actual vBulletin forum. It seemed to install correctly and everything I see on Cometchat seems to be okay. But here I am facing an issue that online users are not showing. It keeps showing 0 online users. I tried to login on another PC with another user account, but it still kept showing 0 online users. I don't know what's wrong. Does somebody here got any idea about this particular issue?

P.S. I am noticing that it has maybe broken the forum a little too. When I (or any user) tries to open private messages, a blank page comes up. Same case when somebody tries to make a post. I did a test run on another vB forum I have just to avoid any issues on my real site. Lol. My bad luck.

TBH, this is not the place for that kind of support. Asi it is a modification, the support needs to be provided on the developers website.

I would disable it, and wait for the proper support from the developers website.

I totally understand it. If this kind of thread is not allowed here then I'm sorry. But if it's not the rules issue then I was hoping somebody who maybe had experience with the issue I am having could maybe help me out.

I can totally sympathize and understand your frustration, but it is the rules here.

Since you are asking about Questions/Problems regarding a Modification/Style, you need to post in the Modifications/Styles thread where you downloaded it from.

That is the proper place to get support for a Modification/Style, not out here in the main forums. Even if you already posted in the Modifications/Styles thread, and have not got a answer, that is not a excuse to post in the open forums. This includes third party Modifications/Styles that you may have got elsewhere.

Please note that if a Modification/Style is unsupported (or even if it says it is supported), you may be on your own if you chose to install it.

All right. Thanks. I apologize. This thread can be closed.
But if you could tell me, I mentioned that I am now having issues with my vB after installing it. If I just reupload all the vB files from the last back up I have, that would most like fix everything, yes?

It might, but it may be best to disable the chat, and see if that fixes the issue. If not then I would restore the full backup you took, not just load files.

I also had this problem on my forum.

I submitted a ticket with cometchat about the issue and it took a few days after I submitted the request (along with all the required info they require to log into your forum) but they came and fixed the issue.

I'm not sure why the fix is not posted on the cometchat site (believe me I looked) so I would suggest you just submit a ticket, wait for the response (it should not take more then 48 hours) provide them with an account using the secure box they provide, and I am 100% sure they will fix it for you.

Yep, like I mentioned, the developer is the best place for support, even if they are a bit slow.
