Strange prefix behaviour
I have certain areas set to require a prefix when creating a thread. In the last few days it has stopped working, it allows people to create a thread without selecting a prefix from the list. I checked all the settings and they are configured as they should be. I have not installed any new features or mods for a while and can see no reason why it should suddenly stop.
Vers. 4.1.7 Can anyone offer an explanation for this? Thanks. |

Have you messed with your usergroups lately?

Perhaps you have forum runner app, that would probably allow the requirement to be bypassed.

usergroup permissions have nothing to do with prefixs

and as ozzy said it could be a mobile app causing the problem |

Thanks for the replies folks. I've checked all the options settings and all user group settings and all forum permission settings, all are as they should be.
As for plugins, I do have quite a few but I have not added or altered any since this was working. In fact I have not made any changes to the forum since it stopped working. It just seemed to have stopped for no apparent reason. I could disable plugins but, which ones? I don't want to disable them unless there is a very good possibility it could be one of them. Any other possibilities anyone can think of? |

Disabling plugin via the config turns them all off then trying to make a post with a test user you will see if it is a problem with a setting as all plugins are off. If it works as it should then you will know if its a plugin causing the problem so remove the line from the config then disable a plugin at a time until you find the one that is causing the problem. If after all these checks and none of the above is the cause then you will need to look else where. Its just a matter of testing each part until you find out where the bug is
