Old theme showing up on random pages for some users
Hi all,
We have a custom theme for our site, www.mathhelpboards.com that we really like but still offer the default vBulletin theme in case members prefer that look. A couple of members have written me that they see the old theme in certain forums (http://www.mathhelpboards.com/f45/ for example) but I always see the new theme without any issues. My question is, is there anything that could be causing this on the server end? Is there some cache that could be cleared or some setting that might cause this? With another user who mentioned this problem on a different set of pages I asked him to clear everything I could think of off his computer yet the problem persists. I'll provide pictures and more details if necessary. Thank you in advance. Jameson |

Maybe the user has to clear the temporary internet files.
You could ask what happens if that user presses CTRL+F5 if he see the old theme. If the page is than reloaded correctly, the problem is indeed the temporary internet files. |

Thank you for the response but he's already cleared everything - temp internet files, cache, cookies, etc. and it didn't change anything.

I dont see the problem either and I looked at a couple of your forums including the one you listed. It is hard to tell what could be wrong, user cache, cookie, who knows.
I would say just removed the old style and stick to one. In the end it will just increase your workload when troubleshooting etc. You have a very nice forum design, not too heavy. I would stick with the branding you have worked on. -Jason |

I never have this issue either so it doesn't surprise me you don't see it on your computer. It's not a common issue but it's the second time someone has mentioned it so I want to figure out what's going on. I'll ask for more details and post pictures later today to show what is happening. Still looking for any advice on themes mixing with each other randomly |

I assume that he complains its always the same forum doing it that you linked to f45?
Does f45 have a style override set by chance or did in the past? Did you clear the forum cache itself? |

Thanks for the help and teaching me about a setting I'd never seen before. Thought I had been through every option 10x by now but clearly some can slip through. |

Well, it should be set to off, unless your forcing a style for that forum.
If that was your initial intention, then yes, it should be turned on. If you only have 1 style,, you dont need to force that on anyways. |
