Ive had loads of members sign up today with silly username and numbers for example - http://www.cpafix.com/members/nflstbsr230.htm and http://www.cpafix.com/members/nikkie2323.htm

spam?

How can i prevent it?

I'm getting hammered by them too, to the tune of about 1 every 2 minutes signing up. Has to be bots. I've disabled registration because of it.

Thanks - i have spam o matic never had an issue until this weekend - installed spammers suck now will test it!

What are they?
Xrunner?

what do they get out of it as they arnt posting or leaving backlinks?
