Since when does the FBI get involved in repairing damage created by criminals?
Answer is they dont.
This was reported some time ago i remember.
Smells of stinky stinky stuff if you ask me mate.
What are they actually doing? Who knows but im sure its certainly got nothing to do with a few hundred thousand infected pcs. Hell there are loads of infected pcs that are part of botnets that take down the exact organisation that claims to be "fixing" the problem.

They are not actually losing their access, it will just appear to stop working - according to that article whats happened is people have had their DNS settings altered, so they will need to check/reset them, otherwise they will be pointing at non existant servers.

They do offer a link in that article that will test if your DNS settings have been altered. Mine checked out clean as I figured they would.

I bet the government has been tracking the internet usage of everyone who was using their DNS server.
