getting kicked out upon login
When members go to the forum index page and login, the welcome window comes up as it should, but then it goes back to the forum index page as if they have not logged in. However if one clicks on the forum button, it will then show as being logged in.
The only thing that I have done in the last few days was to redirect domain names to the forum index page rather than the front page. That and upload a couple of mods. I disabled the mods and the problems still exist. should I uninstall the mods and then check it before reinstalling them? could it be something that has to do with the redirection of the domain names? I did notice that the front page did the same thing from the very beginning. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

If you allow users to login to your site via both http://www.yoursite.com and just yoursite.com., then you MUST have your cookie domain (AdminCP > Settings > Options > Cookies and HTTP Header Options > Cookie Domain) set to ".yoursite.com" (no quotes, but note the period at the beginning) or your users will have problems. Also, make sure to tell your users to click the Remember Me button when they login.

I went in and checked the settings as you suggested and added the only suggestion available. I have a mod that checks the remember me box by default.
logged out, went in and deleted the temp files and cookies on my computer after closing the browser. Opened the browser and logged in. I got the welcome message and then it went back to the forum index page and it appeared as if I was not logged in. Again, if I click on the forum button in the navbar it refreshes the page and I am logged in. If I close the browser, I have to go through the whole deal again when opening my browser. Any other ideas? |

I might add that I have the following.
www.teamm14.com redirects to www.m14raforum.org/forum.php The main domain name for the forum is www.m14raforum.org All the domain names that we use are redirected to M14raforum.org/forum.php If I had them all go to m14raforum.org and redirected m14raforum.org to m14raforum.org/forum.php would that fix the problem? I've done that and it takes me to the front or home page. We would like to get rid of the front page if possible and just have everything go to the main forum index page.
Thoughts? |

Disable the CMS product from AdminCP->Plugins & Products? I believe that will auto-redirect to the forum index.
