...Just wondering if anyone could make a hack that automatically adds points to the user when they start a new thread or reply to an old one, like the Karma hack.

There used to be a hack that did this, but it was removed.

Look at the existing karma hack here, you can find the code there - just change the reference to userprofilefield you added through the admin panel.

i saved it as a txt file on a mac... what extension should i use?

Try saving it as a rtf file.

Also, is it possible to integrate your hack into FireFly's quick reply system?
