Need a Hard Drive - WAIT
Well, it's happened. Floods in Tailand have pretty much taken out the Western Digital and Toshiba hard drive factories.
A 500Gb drive I purchased 3 weeks ago for $39.00 is now $119.00. Don't expect prices to return to normal until late next year (I hope). |

I'm glad I purchased my 2 TB NAS before these price jumps.

^ I went to order one so I could RAID but the price was up from a few weeks ago $119 to over $400... speechless, left me in awe even.
One tip though... I was speaking to someone in Staples today as I was purchasing my wife a new laptop and he said most places still have them at a decent price UNTIL THIS WEEKS ADS are over - so try your local stores if you need one, usually I get out online for much less however if your going to need one this week might be the last unless for a while unless you want to pay a arm and a leg. |

Yeah, we got the heads-up a couple of weeks back from our hardware vendors, to give our customers early warning.

No.
As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see SSD drive prices drop. |

Surprising, in Australia I just purchased a 2T external " Iomega' for $89. they seem to be selling all drives on special at the moment. This may alter dramatically soon though.
