Why won't attachments show as images?

When I upload attachments through URL's (which are then saved to my forum), the post turns out like this:



Why? I have "View Attached Images Inline" on "Yes, full size".

And how many attachments do you allow per post? And do you allow the use of IMG tags? (And are those attachments or just links to images?)

I allow 10 attachments per post, so that can't have been the reason. And yes, I allow IMG tags. They work fine if I don't check the "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" when uploading.

But when I upload the pics like this, they won't show:

Click insert image button in post > From URL > Check the "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" > Insert image URL and upload

Do you have thumbnails on? And do you allow the usergroup to view thumbnails?

Yes and yes. This is really confusing. Especially since I've now found out that the images sometimes show and sometimes don't. I.e. in the same post one attachment can show as an image and another as a link.

So confusing! I must do something wrong, but what?

Check your page source and see if the path is correct. Or, try disabling your modifications and see if that fixes the issue.
