Setting bitfield permissions.

I am trying to override permissions using bitfields in a plugin but the vB3.X code isn't working.
For example:

$vbulletin->userinfo['permissions']['forumpermissions'] |= $vbulletin->bf_ugp_forumpermissions['canview'];

Does anyone know the code for vB4?
