Modifying DTO Garage

Hi,

Before I fully devote resources to paying someone to tailor this product to my needs. I am looking for some help, even if it is just guidance towards the right articles and documents to read.

Basically the software provides each member with 1 garage to add general details about their car, and then a break down of modifications. It also allows you to set if the garage is viewable by other members.

Here is a lit of what I am trying to accomplish, and as stated articles that direct me into the proper avenues to make these changes myself are just as welcome, if not more so, than actual physical help.

• Add custom fields into a custom third section on both the edit and view screen for 1/4 mile time, 1/8 mile, link to images of timeslip, etc. I also need to know how to make sure those variables get created into the database.
• Create a custom page that takes some of the data from these fields and puts them into a table that can be ordered via multiple methods. Require that a link to the timeslip is also entered or the users submitted information is not shown on this list.
• Display the page where you view someone's garage on the profile page as a separate tab.

I have to be honest, I am finding these forums to be rather unhelpful. Four issues, four posts, three of which I resolved on my on my own, and one I still need some guidance in. All four no responses at all.



I have decided to struggle through this process of making a product to modify this product. If anyone is interested in helping, let me know.

Here is where I am caught up on, say I want to use the variable for the username to find out what that persons user id number is. Then I want to use that user ID number to call to the DTO Garage vehicle portion of the database to find out the vehicle ID number to that user ID number.

How would I do that? If I could just see the code to do something like that, I would be so much better off with this software.

I need to select from a third table in this statement:

The third table is called "dto_garage_vehicle. The field I need from that table is called vehicle_id.

I just need to input vehicle_id into a variable and then use that variable to create the proper link.
