message tracking
Hi
I had a look around in the ACP but couldn't spot what I needed How do I turn on the 'Request a read receipt for this message' option by default? (see pic below) How do I turn off the Pop up Alert box 'You have a new message' by default'? Would it be possible for individual users to turn back on the pop up alert if they really wanted to see it? Is there any way to track whether a PM has been deleted before or after reading? cheers Rich |

The pop up box is an option in the User CP -> Edit Options -> Private Messaging -> Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up... un-check the box.
Each user can decide for themselves. |

Can I disable the pop up globally for all users from the ACP, then they can switch it back on if they want to? cheers |

There is probably an SQL query that can be run to disable it globally but I don't know what it is. You could search, it may have been brought up before.

I've spotted I can disable it in the ACP (user registration options) by default for new registrations (unless the user turns it back on while registrering)
I agree there must be some sql I can run to turn it off for all existing members Rich --------------- Added [DATE]1300219916[/DATE] at [TIME]1300219916[/TIME] --------------- Regards setting 'Request read receipt' to be on as default I couldn't find anything in the ACP to set this However the following did the trick for me in the file private.php I found this it of code Code:
construct_checkboxes(array( 'savecopy' => true, 'parseurl' => true, 'signature' => iif($vbulletin->userinfo['signature'] !== '', true) )); and edited it thus: Code:
construct_checkboxes(array( 'receipt' => true, 'savecopy' => true, 'parseurl' => true, 'signature' => iif($vbulletin->userinfo['signature'] !== '', true) )); Good or bad practice I don't know - but it nailed it for me |
