Lot of new members... no new posts.. problem?
I have a new forum that doesnt have much content or threads yet. But the last few days i have been getting 4-5 new sign ups but never any posts.
I wonder if this is some sort of spam or thing i should be paying attention too. I have only had one single "suspected" spammer so far.. in just one post, so spamming isnt a real big problem... yet i have the option "Verify Email address in Registration" checked.. so they need to respond to an email before they can post. I just am trying to avoid any spammers http://www.bootcamp4me.com/military-forum/forum.php |

Most spam bots have a signature with a link or a website in their profile.
If you have not done so yet, install Spam-o-matic. |

yeah.. thats what the first spammer had. but there are at least 10-12 other new sign uppers who havent posted anything in days.
Kinda curious why this would happen |

Whenever I open registration on my board, I get literally 50-100 new registrations per day (normal is one or two a month). They're spam bots.
I wound up adding a required profile question that only a real person would know the answer to and that has stopped the problem. But I will look around for this "Spam-o-matic" thing, too... |

They're probably spammers... sometimes spammers never even use accounts they make... sometimes they use them days or even weeks later.
