Integrating CMS layout on vBulletin 4
Hello folks, is there anyway way I can have the blog showing on the right side of forum with the collapse feature just like vbulletin.com and also have the sections widget just like on vbulletin.com home page show on the left of the forum. I'm trying to get maximum exposure for our homepage/CMS while members are on the forum. Thank you all.

The blog on the forum page is from the Forum Blocks:
vboptions > forum sidebar > set those to what you want forums & moderators > forum blocks > add the blocks you want The once on the CMS are just widgets you would add to the layout. Have you read any of the documentation in the Home link on vbulletin.com? |

Hi Lynne, thanks for the reply. I have read some of the documentation and to be honest I cannot see how I missed that. I have the forum blocks set now and they are showing on the forum landing page.
What I would like to know, is there a way through this .org customization site that I can have have either: A) forum blocks on both sides of the forum or B) A CMS widget or similar feature running on the left side of the forum landing page. My whole thought behind this is to maximize exposure to the CMS front end. Thanks. Phil. |

You would have to do a search for a mod that would add another sidebar to your page since I don't know of any such mod (I've never looked for one).

Hello Lynne,
Do you mean you can set more than one block (i.e. online users, latests threads) ? I tried to set but only appears the first I set and someone in vbsupport told me I should modify code, which really seem strange to me. I've another question which no one solved me: There is someway to redirect the user login to cms home instead of forum? Thank you |

The login page redirect is set in the function do_login_redirect. You can probably just set the url in a plugin using the login_redirect hook location that is in that function(functions_login.php). |

Thank you very much for your answer. I'll check the forum blocks with support.
For the login hook... I have no idea about vb programming. Do you know if there is some basic "how internally works vbulletin, for dummies" and a 'products/plugins/hooks/variables-and-tem-plates for php dummie developers'?? I appreciate very much your contributions to the forum. Thank you. --------------- Added [DATE]1300384091[/DATE] at [TIME]1300384091[/TIME] --------------- Do you know if there is some 'latest my_groups-friends-forum-cms-and comments' mod plugin or hack? I have been looking for the most (and only) interesting one is a payed one but I can not afford now. I would like to develop it, but as said, I have not vB background to do it. Thanks! |

You can look in the blocks and see what there is here - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisp...c&daysprune=-1
If you want to start coding, the way to learn is to look at someone else's coding and see how they did something. Start small, like with a block, and the build up to modifications that are more involved. |
